Dua Lipa DIY Concert Outfit: Step-by-Step Tutorial + Video

If you’re a Dua Lipa fan like me, you’ve probably been obsessed with her stunning concert outfits from the Radical Optimism Tour 2025. One look that really stood out to me was her black Chanel bodysuit, worn during her final set - which inspired me to create my own DIY Dua Lipa concert outfit for her Liverpool show on June 25th, 2025. I wanted something stylish, similar in vibe, but also budget-friendly. The result? A full look I made myself for just €6 - and yes, I’m serious!

Inspiration: Dua Lipa’s Chanel Bodysuit
As I mentioned, the Chanel bodysuit was my favorite piece from Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism Tour wardrobe. It features chains and metallic details layered over a sleek black bodysuit - the perfect mix of glam and rockstar energy.
My goal wasn’t to replicate it exactly (I mean, I’m not that talented… and definitely not Chanel hahah), but to capture the vibe using affordable materials and a bit of creativity. I also loved the idea of making something unique - especially since I hadn’t seen many people recreating this specific look.
Materials Needed:
Chain and pendant:I bought 10 meters of gold chain (it was actually cheaper to buy more, but I used maybe half of it) and a pendant - both together cost me just €6 total.
Old crop top and belt: Found both in my closet.
Metal rings: For connecting the chains with minimal sewing.
Basic sewing supplies + pliers
Step 1: Preparing the Base Outfit
I started with an old crop top and belt that I paired with a short black skirt. It was important that everything fit well and felt comfortable enough for a concert night. Using pieces I already had saved me money and gave me a simple canvas to work on.
Step 2: Placing and Sewing Metal Rings
To attach the chains without making a mess, I sewed a few metal rings onto the crop top and belt exactly where I wanted to connect the chains. On the crop top, I stitched the rings by the straps and in the middle of the décolleté cut. For the belt, I sewed two rings in the front and two in the back.
These metal rings created sturdy anchor points to connect the chains and helped keep everything in place - all without heavy sewing.
Step 3: Connecting the Chains
Using extra metal rings, I linked the chains together to recreate Dua’s outfit pattern. This helped minimize sewing while ensuring the chains were firmly connected and durable enough to last throughout the concert.
Step 4: Adding Last Touches (Charms & Pendants)
To finish off and cover up the areas where lots of chains were connected, I added some small pendants inspired by Dua Lipa’s bodysuit. I also added an extra chain with a scissors charm on the belt (instead of the Chanel one Dua has) - a little shoutout to my amazing designer/tailor skills!
