Darius and Girenas Stadium is a newly renovated venue in Kaunas that has recently gained popularity! Last year, Ed Sheeran performed two almost sold-out shows, and this summer’s lineup is impressive—Justin Timberlake, Guns N’ Roses, Robbie Williams, and Post Malone will all be making a stop in Kaunas. Planning to attend a concert? Here are some key tips from my personal experience to ensure you have the best time at this venue.

Getting to Darius and Girenas Stadium

The stadium is conveniently located close to the city center, just a 15-20 minute walk away. If walking isn’t an option, I strongly recommend using public transportation to get to and from the venue. On the day of an event, your ticket grants you free public transportation for three hours before and after the show. Extra routes are added on concert days, so be sure to check the schedule. Parking is very limited, so it's best to avoid coming by car.

Entrance to the Stadium

Before heading to the stadium, check which entrance you need to use—this is crucial, especially if you have floor tickets. There are A and B entrances (mostly used for General Admission), as well as Entrance C, which requires walking around the stadium and is primarily used for the fan zone. The signs around the stadium are very clear, so check your entrance and follow the directions. Knowing your entrance in advance is important, especially if you’re aiming to secure a barricade spot!

Food and Drinks

There are plenty of options for snacks, food, and drinks. Just outside the stadium, you’ll find numerous food stands. Inside, there are smaller stands selling drinks and light snacks. During Ed Sheeran’s concerts, there were even small stands in the floor area for drinks.

Bathrooms

Both times I visited the stadium, I didn’t experience major issues with bathroom queues. The first time, I was near Entrance B, where there were bathrooms close to the floor entrance. The second time, I was in the fan zone (Entrance C) and had to leave the floor to access the restrooms, but they weren’t too far away and the queues were manageable. Additionally, there are plenty of portable toilets outside the stadium.

Payment Options

Cashless payment options are available everywhere, including merchandise stands and food and drink stalls, making any purchase easy and convenient.

Extra Secret Tip

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share this, but I’ll be kind this time—hahaha! Guess what - queuing isn’t very common in Lithuania. This means that even if you arrive just an hour before doors open, you can still get a great spot near the barricade! When I attended Ed Sheeran’s show, I arrived at 3 PM, doors opened at 4 PM, and I easily secured a front-row spot!

Overall Experience

The stadium is smaller than typical big-city venues, making the experience more manageable. During both concerts I attended, the entrance process was smooth, queues were manageable, and it was easy to move around to grab drinks or visit the bathroom before the show—since not all Lithuanians are early attenders.

Plus, its location is super convenient—you can walk there from the city center. After the concert, take a walk down the hill and enjoy a delicious dinner or an afterparty on Kaunas’ main street, Laisves Aleja.
