On June 8, 2026 Black Eyed Peas got the party started in my hometown of Kaunas, Lithuania. It had been 21 years since the band last visited Lithuania (back then with Fergie), and I remember wanting to go even at that time. Unfortunately, as a young teenager, that wasn't really an option. But well, just a few years later, I finally got to see them right here in my hometown (even if without Fergie), so let's see how the night went.

For context: even though this was a solo Black Eyed Peas show in Kaunas, it was part of their festival tour, which meant a basic production and a very short setlist.

Tickets for Black Eyed Peas concert in Kaunas

It was quite easy to get tickets. I bought two standing tickets during the presale for €77 each. Although the standing tickets sold out quickly, other sectors were still available right before the show.

The Venue – Žalgiris Arena

Žalgiris Arena is not only the biggest indoor arena in Lithuania but also in all the Baltic states – and it just happens to be my hometown venue! I've been there countless times since it opened in 2011, both for concerts and for my second favorite reason: basketball.

It's a modern arena with good infrastructure and a central location. I can literally walk there in about 10 minutes, which is super convenient. For me, going to concerts there honestly feels like going to my second home.

One thing worth mentioning is that there isn't really a queuing culture in Lithuania (I hope it stays that way haha), which means there usually isn't much queue organization either. That's how, even though we arrived at 6:15 pm, just 15 minutes before doors opened, we still managed to get barricade. Sometimes you need to work smarter, not harder haha (or just know the more convenient entrance in this case).

Black Eyed Peas in Kaunas Timeline

  • 6:15 pm – Arrived at the venue

  • 6:30 pm – Doors opened (to enter the venue, not the pit/sectors themselves)

  • 7:10 pm – Entered the arena

  • 8:24 pm – Black Eyed Peas started

  • 9:50 pm – Show ended

How to get barricade in Kaunas

So, long story short, when we arrived, maybe 40 people were waiting, which is very little compared to popular shows in other countries, but still enough to not get barricade lol. Anyway, we joined the queue and, while waiting, one security guard came over and said: "Guys, there are extra entrance gates here, come join the queue." This meant people from the back quickly moved to the new queues (including us), and we suddenly became some of the first people to enter hihi. Told you there was no queue organization.

Then security started letting us in, and the "funny" thing was that our ticket scanner couldn't scan our tickets from Apple Wallet because of the old scanner design. It was made to scan only barcodes, and the QR code didn't fit properly under the scanner. So we had to move to another scanner nearby.

Anyway, we finally got our wristbands and entered the venue. But the thing about Žalgiris Arena is that even if you're inside the building, that doesn't always mean you can enter the arena itself yet. And that was the case this time too. Once I saw that the main pit doors were still closed, I went to the doors on the other side of the arena that not many people know about. Because of that, we were basically among the first people to enter the pit once they opened.

Once they let us in, I was doing my usual fast barricade walk (because normally there's no running, right?). Then I saw a flood of youngsters running like crazy from the other entrance, and I was like: damn, you're not going to outrun me. So all those gym sessions finally paid off, and I got barricade haha.

Black Eyed Peas in Kaunas

At around 8:20 pm, about 20 minutes after the official start time, Black Eyed Peas (will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo) took the stage and opened with their iconic song ‘’Let's Get It Started’’. And exactly at that moment, the party started. ‘’Boom Boom Pow’’ followed, keeping up the fast pace of the evening. During this song, J. Rey Soul (who has been touring with the band since 2018 after Fergie left) also joined the stage. ‘’Rock That Body’’ came next, and from there the setlist moved more into the band's newer era with songs like ‘’RITMO’’ and ‘’MAMASITA’’. During ‘’MAMASITA’’, J. Rey Soul invited a girl from the audience to sing with her, which was really cool.

The band members also had some solo moments. Taboo performed ‘’In The Air’’, while apl.de.ap performed ‘’MABUTI’’ and ‘’Bebot’’. Then will.i.am came back with ‘’#thatPower’’. Since Justin Bieber is featured on the song, that probably explains why the audience went crazy for it.

Next came ‘’Scream & Shout’’, which felt a little closer to the Black Eyed Peas I grew up with.

At this point, I think it's fair to point out that at least around us, the audience was really young – maybe early 20s at most, or even late teens. That surprised me because this was the band I listened to back in school, which, as I mentioned at the beginning, was quite a long time ago. I think because I stopped following the band after Fergie left, I didn't realize how much their newer music appealed to a younger generation as well. So yeah, just a fun observation.

Another thing: because I was such a fan years ago, did I get a bit sad that almost none of the older songs made it into the setlist? Well, yes, a little.

But again, this was a festival tour, so the focus was on upbeat, party-style songs that keep the crowd moving. Songs from the earlier albums, like ‘’Shut Up’’, ‘’Don't Phunk with My Heart’’, or ‘’Don't Lie’’, have a slightly different vibe. Would I personally prefer those songs over ‘’MAMASITA’’ and co.? Of course haha.

But the non-stop party continued with classics like ‘’Pump It’’ and ‘’The Time (Dirty Bit)’’, before the main set closed with ‘’Where Is The Love?’’ (I mean, it would probably be illegal not to include that one, right?).

At that point everyone knew an encore was coming because ‘’I Gotta Feeling’’ is another absolute classic. And yes, we listened to it like crazy during high school parties.

Shortly afterward, the band returned to the stage and closed the night with ‘’I Gotta Feeling’’ while also adding snippets of ‘’Meet Me Halfway’’ and ‘’My Humps’’.

And just like that, the very short setlist was over.

Because this was part of a festival tour, the production was fairly minimal. The screen behind the stage mostly showed generic visuals (maybe the side screens showed the band, but from the first row we couldn't really see them).

There were some fire effects during ‘’Pump It’’ and confetti during the final song, which felt fine for this type of show.

Fan interaction

Black Eyed Peas really know how to work a crowd. There were plenty of singalongs, mentions of Lithuania, speeches about their career, stories about visiting Europe every summer for the last 20 years, and messages about being kind to one another.

The guys also took a poster from a fan in the first row (the famous red question mark on a black background). Everyone signed it on stage, and then will.i.am came down to the front row, took photos with the fan, and gave him the poster back. He later moved to the other side of the stage and filmed himself singing in front of the audience, giving fans the chance to get super close and even exchange a high five.

As I mentioned before, J. Rey Soul also invited a fan on stage to sing part of ‘’MAMASITA’’ together.

There were also plenty of mentions of Lithuania and even moments where the band incorporated it into the songs.

The band members constantly interacted with fans by waving and making heart signs. I even got a 🫰 from apl.de.ap when he noticed my "Love Is All You Need" T-shirt during ‘’Where Is The Love?’’. Sooo cute, right?

After the show, the staff also threw out guitar picks, a few setlists (I got one too!), and drumsticks, which made for some really nice souvenirs.

One of my favorite concert souvenirs – I managed to get a Black Eyed Peas setlist after the show.

So yeah, these guys are experts at fan interaction. No notes here.

The sound

I don't want to rant too much about this, but damn, this was probably the worst sound I've ever experienced at a concert. And if you follow my blog, you'll know I recently complained about a similar issue during a Lewis Capaldi concert. This time it was so bad that I genuinely felt like my ears might explode. I even heard people after the show saying they couldn't hear properly, and that's definitely not a normal concert experience.

Again, I don't know what the exact issue was or why both times it happened in Lithuania. The organizers were different, so maybe the sound company was the same, but that's just speculation. I also don't think it's the artists' fault because both Lewis Capaldi and Black Eyed Peas were performing festival-style sets.

I just wanted to mention it because it genuinely affected the experience. At certain points it became difficult to enjoy the show because the sound was so overwhelming. When the first notes hit, it honestly felt like getting smacked by a sound wave. So... imagine.

Final thoughts

Black Eyed Peas in Kaunas was a super fun experience. It was obvious that this was a festival-style show with a smaller production and a very short setlist, but I guess the ticket price reflected that as well.

The whole concert felt like one big party, with high energy from start to finish. The band was great, incredibly interactive, and you can clearly see that after all these years they are completely comfortable on stage and still genuinely enjoying what they do.

I'm really happy that I finally got to experience this crazy party, especially so close to home haha.

And I think, like a lot of fans from the early 2000s, I'll keep hoping that one day Fergie rejoins the band and those older songs make their way back into the setlist.
