On a rainy afternoon, on July 10th, I finally decided to go see Guns N' Roses - and got my tickets just a few hours before the show started. That’s how I ended up witnessing the legends themselves during their What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things 2025 Tour… in my hometown, Kaunas!

I have to be honest - I’m more of a casual fan who knows around 10 of their songs, so I had been on the fence about getting tickets. But oh boy, I’m so glad I went. What a show! Keep reading to find out how the evening unfolded.

Tickets for the Guns N' Roses Tour 2025 in Kaunas

As I mentioned, I got my tickets super last minute. There were still quite a few GA and fan zone tickets left, and I was hoping to find someone to go with - despite being totally fine with going to concerts alone too. Once my sister confirmed she was in, I jumped into ticket-hunting mode and ended up getting two general admission tickets for €50 each from a Lithuanian fan-to-fan Facebook group (and let me stress - always be careful to avoid scams when buying this way!).

The Venue – Darius and Girenas Stadium

The show took place at the recently renovated Darius and Girenas Stadium in Kaunas. I actually have a full blog post dedicated to this compact but very convenient venue, with all the tips you need if you're planning to attend an event there.

One thing I love about it? You can walk there from the city center - which also means I can just walk from my home. After the concert, thousands of people walked back downtown, and there were still places open for food and drinks. The vibe was just amazing.

Concert Day Timeline

Here’s how our evening went:

  • 5:00 PM – Doors opened

  • 7:00 PM – Opening act: Public Enemy

  • 7:55 PM – We arrived at the venue

  • 8:25 PM – Guns N' Roses took the stage

  • 11:40 PM – Show ended

Since we bought tickets late and the weather wasn’t the best, we missed the opening act - but made it just in time for the main event!

Welcome to the Jungle – Guns N' Roses Live in Kaunas

At around 8:25 PM, the legends stepped on stage and kicked off a nearly 3.5-hour-long rock show, opening with Welcome to the Jungle. I had this surreal moment of realizing that Guns N' Roses - actual rock icons - were performing live in my hometown. Sure, we’ve hosted big names like Justin Timberlake and Ed Sheeran recently, but this still felt like a proud moment for Kaunas, which is becoming a regular stop on major tours (Post Malone and Robbie Williams are coming to Kaunas in August too).

The band played an impressive 30-song setlist, lasting almost 3.5 hours. Of course, it included their biggest hits like Sweet Child o' Mine, Paradise City, and You Could Be Mine. But… they skipped Don’t Cry - which happens to be one of my few favorites. For someone who doesn’t know every song on the setlist, missing that one felt like a real loss. It turns out they only play it occasionally, sometimes swapping it with Patience (we got that one in Kaunas). I honestly don’t get why - it’s such a popular track and would easily fit into the setlist. You can find the full setlist here.

Now, the weather didn’t cooperate - midway through, a full-on storm rolled in with thunder and lightning, which honestly felt like nature’s special effects. Rain ponchos became the fashionable outfit of the night. And then, hearing Axl Rose on the piano performing November Rain, with Slash bringing his iconic riff, while actual rain poured down… that's a feeling I can't even describe. It’s the ultimate concert-goer goal and live music moment - a core memory that will stay with me forever.

Let’s Talk About the Band

Now, talking about the band and their “shape” - especially Axl Rose... Let’s be real: these guys are all around 60 and have lived the full rockstar lifestyle. Long-time members Slash and Duff McKagan are, I think, still at the top of their game. They did a great job carrying the show. Slash’s guitar solos felt unreal at times - he’s consistently ranked among the greatest guitarists for a reason. (Also, fun fact - he has a song with Michael Jackson. That’s the level we’re talking about!) By the way, the rest of the band was amazing too!

As for Axl Rose, I’d seen plenty of comments and videos about his current form. No, you can’t expect his voice or looks to be the same as in the early days. But honestly? He still gave it his all - running around, full of energy. He also changed jackets and tops multiple times, so shoutout to the wardrobe department too, haha. I’m not a music expert, but I feel like Axl could maybe use a bit of playback… though maybe that goes against the rock mentality, not sure haha. Of course, it’s tough to hit those super high notes, and his singing style hasn’t exactly helped preserve his voice.

That said, I actually read comments from hardcore fans saying that Kaunas was one of his better vocal nights - especially on the lower-range songs. All in all, he really showed up.

So yeah, overall I think it was an amazing night, and I’m so happy I was there, witnessing an iconic band live! (Still justice for Don’t Cry!)

A Note on the Crowd

Okay, I’m Lithuanian, so I feel like I can say this: the crowd… could’ve been better. We moved around a few times and saw the vibe from different angles. In the GA section, many people were just standing still. People in the seated areas literally sat through the whole show. During breaks between songs, after some initial clapping and cheering, the stadium got oddly quiet. I get that it was a long show, maybe not everyone knew all the songs, and in general, it was a slightly older audience - but still, dance a little! Have fun!

Toward the end, the seated section at the back started to empty out. I read some complaints about the sound being bad back there, which might explain it - but it still looked a bit sad.

Don’t get me wrong, that didn’t stop us from dancing, jumping, and singing our hearts out though!

GA Tip

We changed spots three times during the show. First, we tried the middle front of the GA area, but it got very tight very fast. Oddly enough, we saw the stage better from a bit further back. Then we moved to the left side and got pretty close - with plenty of space to dance. After a quick bathroom break, we ended up on the right side near the front, and that was probably the best view we had all night.

Tip: Always check the sides of the GA section. They’re often less crowded, so you can get closer and actually enjoy the show with room to move.

Final Thoughts

What can I say? I absolutely loved the Guns N' Roses 2025 Tour in Kaunas. I’m so happy I decided to go. We had a great time, saw a legendary band, and heard iconic songs performed live by Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. Hearing those legendary guitar riffs and singing along with the crowd - it was concert lover’s heaven.

I've even started listening to their music again, and yes, I’ve got a light case of post-concert blues.

One thing’s for sure: if you’re ever in doubt about buying concert tickets - just do it. You won’t regret going.
