Hurts 15 Years of Happiness Tour 2025 in Sigulda

This time I traveled to a city I had never even heard of before - Sigulda, Latvia. And of course, the very valid reason for it was a concert: Hurts - 15 Years of Happiness Tour 2025.

I had already been to this tour twice - in Berlin and Bochum - but when I found out I could actually make it to the Latvian date too… of course I booked it! That made it my 6th time seeing Hurts live in total. So here I was again, on a solo concert trip, going to see Hurts!

Tickets to Hurts 15 Years of Happiness Tour 2025 in Sigulda

One month before the show, tickets were still available. Since it was standing only, I got mine for €60.

A bit of planning, and then traveling on the day of the concert

After buying my ticket, I immediately checked for hotels - only to discover everything in the city of Sigulda was fully booked, which nearly gave me a heart attack. Luckily, I kept checking for a few days, and the moment a free room appeared, I grabbed it (I guess someone had canceled). With that, the whole trip was finally planned.

I took a 7:00 a.m. bus from Kaunas to Riga, then a one-hour train from Riga to Sigulda, and by around 2:30 p.m. I was already at the hotel (special shoutout to early check-in!).

I rested a bit - I’m really not into early mornings (I don’t know about you, but I never sleep well if I know I need to wake up extra early) - then grabbed some takeaway pizza and got ready to go. Since the city is tiny, it was only about a 15-minute walk to the venue.

I arrived half an hour before doors opened, and there was already a queue - once again proving how dedicated the Hurts fandom is. Originally, I planned to come earlier, but my long-trip headache had other plans. Still, I was there, quite in front of the stage (4th row maybe) ready to experience Hurts magic for the third time this year.

👉 By the way, if you’re impressed by the fact that I went to the concert alone (as you should be, hahah), I actually wrote some tips for going to concerts solo here. I know it can feel scary at first - I felt the same way - but trust me, it’s definitely better to go alone than to skip a show!

The only downside of going alone is that you have to take your own photos - here I am after the Hurts concert in Sigulda.

The Venue – Sigulda Castle

Hurts concert was held at a very unique venue: Sigulda Medieval Castle. Since it’s open-air, we were lucky with the weather - about 20°C and sunny. Honestly, it couldn’t have been better (especially since I hate when it’s too hot at concerts).

Everything was well organized, from the entrance to the show timings. There were plenty of food and drink options, though I didn’t get any this time.

In general, it was a really nice concert location - but the stage setup was a bit odd. The stage was built on a permanent built-in platform, but positioned about three meters back from the edge. What did that mean? That Theo, with his cabled mic, was limited in how close he could get to the audience. He did step forward a few times without the mic, but you could see the distance made it harder for him to connect as much as he would love to. I’m not sure why it was set up that way, but it definitely didn’t enhance the experience.

Hurts Sigulda 2025: The Performance That Stole the Night

This being my third concert of the tour also means it’s my third Hurts blog post! You can read about the Berlin show here - it was one of the main stops of the tour and an extraordinary experience. I also shared my full fan journey there. My Bochum post is just as special - I even met Theo and got my VIP poster signed! Read all about it here.

Both posts reflect just how much admiration I have for Theo as a performer and the band as a whole.

In Sigulda, Theo once again gave a performance that mesmerized from the very first second - you just don’t want to return to reality afterward.

But this time, the setlist was different. In Berlin and Bochum, they started with the full Happiness album and then added extra songs from the later albums. In Sigulda, they opened with Silver Lining (the first track on Happiness and an absolute masterpiece - listen to it if you don’t know it!), then moved into Some Kind of Heaven, Ready to Go, Miracle, and one of my all-time favorites, Rolling Stone (skipped in Bochum, so I was extra happy to hear it here).

The mix continued with the new addition of Sandman, which I heard live for the first time this tour. The first part of the show closed with an emotional Wings, and the encore brought Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us, Under Control, and of course, the grand finale with Stay. It was a bit surprising that they didn’t play the full Happiness album (and even skipped Blood, Tears & Gold), but the setlist was still fantastic.

Theo was phenomenal as always, giving 100%. As I mentioned earlier, it seemed like he struggled a bit with the stage limitations, but even so, he delivered a powerful performance that I’m sure everyone in the audience loved.

About meeting Theo this time… unfortunately, it didn’t happen. He left right after the show in his black SUV, while people were clapping as it drove away. Maybe because it was an outdoor venue, or maybe Berlin and Bochum were just special moments where he came out to meet fans.

A Bit About the Audience…

Since I was alone, I had plenty of time to observe people.

First: can we all agree that talking loudly during the opening act is just rude?

A couple of girls in front of me chatted through the whole first song, until I finally told them, “Can you go somewhere else to talk.” (And yes, they were Lithuanians too.) Thankfully, that shut them up.

The opener Emilia did a great job - she sang in both Latvian and English, plus did some English cover songs. So honestly, the least people could do is listen respectfully, especially if they’re standing in the front rows.

Second: I noticed quite a few people who were clearly dragged there by their partners. How do I know? Some guys were standing right in front of me, completely still during the whole show - no clapping, no waving, nothing. And they weren’t the only ones. If you’re not enjoying it, why take a prime spot in front? Anyway, just wanted to leave it here.

The End of Happiness

Except for their upcoming festival show in Poznan on August 16, this was the last standalone Hurts concert celebrating the 15th anniversary of their debut album, Happiness. All in all, Hurts in Sigulda 2025 was an unforgettable experience.

If you haven’t listened to this album - I really, really recommend it. And I promise I’m not biased: every song is amazing, no skips. Wonderful Life and Stay are pure perfection.

I still remember my very first Hurts concert back in 2011, during the original Happiness tour. I completely fell in love with the band then, which is why this tour has been so special to me - it feels like celebrating not only the album, but also all the years I’ve been their fan.

Once again, I’ll say it: I really hope Hurts keep making music and keep touring. I hope Theo saw how passionate his fans are and feels inspired to continue. Even if this is the end of the Happiness era, I hope it’s also the beginning of something even better.

Theo and Adam - I hope I see you soon! 🖤
