On July 16th, my obsession with Imagine Dragons continued, I had my second date booked for the Imagine Dragons Loom Tour in Hamburg. The first one was in Tallinn (you can read about that show here). I had two dates booked because I knew one time wouldn’t be enough - but now I’m thinking… why didn’t we book three?! Well, that’s the plan for the next time they return to Europe.

And now, keep reading to find out why me and Dan Reynolds are basically in a relationship (haha).

Tickets for Imagine Dragons – Loom World Tour 2025 in Hamburg

I got my tickets for Loom World Tour 2025 in Hamburg during the artist presale without any issues. I chose Golden Circle Left and paid €145 per ticket.

The Venue – Volksparkstadion Hamburg

This was actually my fourth time at this stadium, and I’ve shared some useful tips here. However… after this experience, I’ll probably try to avoid this venue in the future. Yes, I knew it’s an old and pretty worn-out stadium, but this time the organization was on a whole new level of bad. I won’t get into it too much here (because I want to focus on how great the concert was), but expect a dedicated blog post about the venue coming soon.

Concert Day Timeline

Here’s how the day unfolded:

  • 12:30 PM – Arrived at the venue

  • 4:30 PM – Planned door time

  • 5:00 PM – Actual door opening

  • 7:00 PM – Opening act: Declan McKenna

  • 8:05 PM – Imagine Dragons

  • 9:50 PM – Show ended

Queuing & Waiting at Volksparkstadion

Our goal was simple: get as close to the stage as possible - ideally, at the barricade. I was traveling with my mom, and we arrived around 12:30 PM. There were no clear directions about which entrance to use, so we walked around the stadium until some staff finally confirmed the correct gates (though we later realized other entrances were actually closer to the standing area).

We sat down and started the wait. Somehow, time passed quickly—with chatting, snacking, and buzzing with excitement. Despite a forecast for rain, we got lucky with a warm and sunny day!

Around 4 PM, there was a false alarm that the doors were opening, and everyone suddenly jumped up and squeezed toward the gates. The last hour of waiting was spent tightly packed in - not the most comfortable. When we finally got in (over 30 minutes late), it was complete chaos - no one knew where the Golden Circle entrance was, and people were running and pushing in every direction.

But somehow… I found the last spot at the barricade. And funnily enough, I ended up nearly in the same position as in Berlin 2023 and Tallinn last month. We grabbed some drinks and spent the rest of the wait in the bathroom queue. Fun times at Volksparkstadion.

Imagine Dragons: A Force of Nature

This was my fourth Imagine Dragons concert and second of this tour, and honestly - I don’t think this band could ever feel anything but amazing live. Just after 8 PM, the band hit the stage and the energy was instant. They opened with the tour classic “Fire in These Hills” from the new LOOM album, followed by an explosive set featuring “Thunder,” “Bones,” “Take Me to the Beach,” “Shots,” and “I’m So Sorry” (which they skipped in Tallinn, so I was extra excited to hear it here). Full setlist is here.

Dan was wearing a transparent jacket (don’t worry, he took it off after a few songs - very important detail, haha) and shorts that honestly looked like he cut them himself right before the show. But who’s complaining, haha.

Then came the acoustic section, starting with “Next to Me.” The rest of the band - Wayne, Ben, and Andrew - joined Dan at the end of the runway, which gave us a chance to see them all up close. During “I Bet My Life,” Dan came down to give high fives, but didn’t come to our side - so I gave up on getting one this time (but surprise, surprise - keep reading!).

The show kept building, with hits like “Demons” and “Radioactive.” Dan’s energy never dipped for a second. During “Sharks”, he stopped mid-performance when someone in the crowd felt unwell. He waited, made sure they were okay, and then continued - just one more reason why we love him.

As the show neared its end, we were treated to emotional moments with “In Your Corner” (one of my favorites from LOOM) and “Birds.” The night closed with the iconic “Believer.” I couldn’t believe my second and final show of the tour was over.

Dan, as always, was powerful, charismatic, and kind. He ran around the stage, smiled at fans, and shared little stories - about his water-drinking habits, meeting Hamburg fans who thanked the band for their music, and how he loved confetti as a kid (now he gets to see it every night!). That explains the excessive confetti, haha. Dan is so powerful and energetic but also just so human, sweet, and humble at the same time. I think that’s why he’s so loved by so many fans.

My Front Row Experience (for the 3rd Time)

Okay, so I guess I’m kind of lucky - because out of three shows where I stood at the barricade, Dan noticed me every single time! And yes, I’m going to be detailed, because these fan moments are the kind of memories I want to keep forever.

In Berlin 2023, he sang to me during “Follow You.” In Tallinn, we had multiple eye contacts, he sang “Next to Me” to me, and I even got a high five. So I thought maybe I’d already used up all my fan karma. But then… Hamburg.

It was near the end, during “Enemy” - song 17 out of 20. I was just enjoying the show, not expecting much, when Dan spotted me and sang the line “Look out for yourself” right at me! (The irony? It was my least favorite song on the setlist… not anymore 😅). Luckily, I managed to film this iconic moment (okay, it’s a shaky mess - but still, proof).

Then, during a break between songs, Dan turned back, looked right at me, waved, and pointed with the cutest smile. In that moment, I was 100% sure he remembered me. I didn’t catch it on video - obviously, I wasn’t recording the whole show - but you’ll just have to trust me on this one.

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better - during “In Your Corner,” Dan came down to the fans and held my hand while singing. Love bombing at its best. These are the kinds of moments only passionate fans truly get - and they mean the world. I’ll remember every wave, every look, every moment.

One Last Tip

Same as I wrote in my Tallinn blog post: if you’re only going to an Imagine Dragons concert for hits like “Radioactive” or “Demons” (which are amazing, of course), I highly encourage you to give the full setlist a chance.

The new LOOM album took me a few listens to get into, but now I truly love songs like “Take Me to the Beach”, “In Your Corner”, “Wake Up”, and “Don’t Forget Me”. I personally don’t think “Nice to Meet You” was the best choice for a single - it doesn’t do justice to how good the album really is. Explore a bit - you might find your new favorite.

Final Thoughts

As I write this, I still feel like I’m living in an Imagine Dragons dream. The days after the concert feel surreal - like waking up from a dream you don’t want to end. The music, the atmosphere, the energy - all unmatched. Dan always gives his all and makes every fan feel seen. I originally planned two dates for this tour, so this was my final show… for now. But I promise - next time they’re back in Europe, I’m booking three dates. Because you can never get enough of Imagine Dragons.

And Dan… don’t forget about me just yet!
