Lady Gaga is currently taking over Europe with The Mayhem Ball Tour 2025, and on Saturday, October 4th, I finally got my chance to see her live during the last of four sold-out shows at The O2 Arena in London. And how was it? Everything you’d expect - and more. Honestly, I don’t even know how to fit it all into one post, but I’ll try my best. So keep reading, little monsters.

Tickets to Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball Tour 2025 in London

When Lady Gaga announced The Mayhem Ball Tour at the end of March, I knew getting tickets would be tough - to say the least. And it was! I initially planned to get tickets for the Berlin show, but even though I was around 2,000th in the queue, everything was sold out by the time I got in. You can read about that whole situation here, because honestly, it was such a frustrating experience.

Since I was determined to see her no matter what, I quickly switched to Ticketmaster UK, joined the queue, and actually managed to get tickets! I got seats in Level 4, Section 414, Row B - second row from the front - for £110 each. Tickets in the lower tiers were quite expensive, and in London, the entire arena layout was seated, even the floor. Otherwise, I would’ve definitely gone for standing tickets, because let’s be honest - this is a concert made for dancing.

The Venue - The O2 Arena

The show took place at London’s iconic O2 Arena, a venue that hosts many of the world’s biggest artists. It was my third time there, so I knew what to expect. Everything is very well organized, but getting back after the show can take some time.

I actually wrote a detailed O2 Arena concert guide with all the info on the bag policy, food spots, and security checks - definitely worth checking out before your visit. So if you’re planning to go to this venue anytime soon, give it a read!

Lady Gaga - The Art of Personal Chaos

I have to be honest, it’s really difficult to put this entire experience into words. There’s the music, the theatrical theme with five acts, nods to famous musicals, plus the staging, visuals, effects, costumes, and choreography.

The whole show starts with Gaga appearing on the screen, writing a manifesto for a while. She then puts down the pen, and two characters appear on screen, reading the manifesto and giving us a glimpse of what’s coming next. To summarize: the show is divided into five acts, representing the fight between the Mistress of Mayhem, who portrays Gaga’s dark side (red outfits, dark hair), and the light side of Lady Gaga (blonde hair, light outfits). The acts are:

  • Act I: Of Velvet and Vice

  • Act II: And She Fell Into a Gothic Dream

  • Act III: The Beautiful Nightmare That Knows Her Name

  • Act IV: Every Chessboard Has Two Queens

  • Finale: The Eternal Aria of the Monster Heart

This theme continues throughout the entire show, culminating in both characters coming to terms with each other’s existence as “dueling twins,” ultimately merging into one Lady Gaga.

"The category is... Dance or Die"

The whole stage resembled an opera house, setting the tone from the start. Gaga appeared in a massive red crinoline dress with a cage-like structure underneath, opening with Bloody Mary, then Abracadabra and Judas, and after a few more songs, closing Act I with Poker Face. From the first second, you’re completely inside Gaga’s world.

The show was packed with dance routines, insane visuals, lighting effects, pyro, and an incredible dance crew. At one point, she performed Perfect Celebrity in a sandbox with a skeleton, then danced around a giant skull. There was even a Phantom of the Opera moment during Shallow, when Gaga floated across the runway in a canoe rowed by “Mayhem Gaga.” Somehow, everything fit together perfectly— theatrical, yet never distracting from the music.

Gaga proved once again (not that she needs to) that she’s a powerhouse, singing live without skipping a beat while executing intense choreography flawlessly.

She also made time to connect with fans: during Vanish Into You, she did a barricade walk, took fan gifts, and even signed albums. Later, during the acoustic set, she gave a heartfelt speech thanking fans for their love and support through the years.

Finale: The Eternal Aria of the Monster Heart

The ending deserves its own spotlight - it was absolutely top-notch. The two Gagas’ inner battle concluded as they accepted their coexistence, symbolized through a stunning, powerful performance of Bad Romance. I’m telling you, I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Afterward, the stage went dark and closing credits started to roll - but fans knew it wasn’t over. A few minutes later, Gaga returned for the encore. The screen showed her backstage, wiping off her makeup, revealing her bare face as she sang How Bad Do You Want Me (my favorite from the Mayhem album - listen to it if you haven’t!). It was the perfect way to end - a glimpse of Stefani Germanotta herself, raw and real, closing a two-and-a-half-hour musical spectacle.

Was an Indoor Arena the Right Choice?

I saw some people wondering why Gaga didn’t bring this tour to stadiums - which would’ve allowed more fans to see it. But honestly, I think the indoor choice was perfect.

Imagine this production in Europe during summer - especially in the north, where the sun doesn’t set until 10 PM or later. A lot of the visuals would lose their impact in daylight. (Yes, that’s one of the biggest struggles for European fans - watching concerts like The Eras Tour or Cowboy Carter in broad daylight (*cries in European*)).

So I’m glad Gaga chose indoor venues, where the lighting and visuals could shine in full glory. Of course, it would’ve been nice if there were more dates so more fans could experience this masterpiece.

The Mayhem Ball Tour Setlist - London

The setlist was insane - 32 songs in total! It was dominated by tracks from the new Mayhem album (14 out of 17 made it), but also packed with classics from Gaga's early albums like The Fame and The Fame Monster.

I loved the mix, though I still missed a few favorites - Telephone, Edge of Glory, Marry the Night, You and I… When you’ve been a pop icon for almost 20 years, fitting all your hits into one night, even with a 32-song setlist, is basically impossible

For the surprise piano section, we got Dance in the Dark and Speechless. She closed with So Happy I Could Die. You can check out the full setlist here.

The Crowd

Now let’s talk about the audience. I’ve been to countless London gigs, and usually the crowd is passionate - loud, singing, dancing. Even at James Blunt’s concert (that is full of ballads), people were standing the whole time.

So I couldn’t believe that at a Lady Gaga concert - a concert made for dancing - people in my sector were sitting down, scrolling on their phones, and barely reacting. I mean… really?! I stood, danced, and had the time of my life - thankfully, no one told me to sit down. I actually think my sector was an exception, because I saw other parts of the arena dancing and having a real great time.

I even tried checking tickets for other shows (basically mission impossible unless you want to pay a fortune on resale), because I’d love to experience it again in a standing section and just dance my ass off. That part was definitely missing.

Final Thoughts

I think this is the piece that took me the longest to write. There are just so many emotions and impressions. Lady Gaga is a hell of a performer - she captures you and doesn’t let go. Of course, the fact that her songs have followed me through different periods of my life added an extra layer of emotional baggage.

Even if I wasn’t a hardcore fan, I remember listening to Just Dance and Poker Face in my high school corridors (back when we used MP3s and shared earphones to listen to music). I also remember learning the Bad Romance dance routine with my friends, never imagining that more than 15 years later I would have a chance to see Mother Monster live.

Lady Gaga's The Mayhem Ball Tour 2025 in London was everything I expected and more, and it will definitely go to the top of my concert experiences.
